Privacy Policy

Let me reassure you about how I plan to use the information you give me. You certainly have a right to know. The following questions may reflect the questions in your own mind as you consider using my services.

What kind of information do you collect through this site?
I collect only the information you knowingly supply—name, contact information, and details about the assignment. I do not, in any way, gather any information without your knowledge. Similarly, I do not track your Web travels. This Web site is cookie-free and spyware-free.

And I do not collect credit-card information.

How will you use this information?
I collect the information you provide and place it on my personal list of business contacts so that I can periodically follow up with my existing and prospective clients. That’s it. I do not, and never will, sell or rent your information to anyone else.

As for the details you provide about your proposed assignment, I use it only to get a preliminary feel for the scope and complexity of the job. As with your contact information, I will never divulge these particulars to anyone else—unless, with your knowledge and permission, I team up with another freelancer, such as a graphic designer, on a particular project.

Upon successful completion of a project, however, I do list my client’s company or organization on my client list, both on my Web site and in my information kit that I send out. I list only the company or organization—no individual names, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, or other personal information.

How will you use the background information I give you?
When you supply me with background information—hardcopy or digital—to help me complete your assignment, I maintain this information in the strictest confidence. No one else outside of your company or organization will see it. I’ll return all materials to you—or delete the files from my computer—upon completion of the project.

How do you handle any interviews you conduct?
If the assignment involves interviewing people, the resulting tapes and transcripts will remain confidential at all times. No one else will hear the tapes or see the transcripts. In the interest of accuracy and completeness, I do tape all of my interviews, both on the phone and in person.

When I interview people on the phone (using a speakerphone to aid in recording the conversation), no one else will be in my office listening in unless I announce otherwise at the beginning of the interview. I always announce that I will be recording the conversation.

If you have any remaining concerns about my privacy policy, just let me know. Check my Contact page for information on how to reach me.

Thank you for your business and your trust.
